With our ZeroTouch feature, your guests can sign-in on their personal devices, without having to touch an iPad kiosk. Guests can enter personal information, sign NDAs, take photos and more, through a simple and secure web portal experience. Touchless sign-ins are initiated by scanning a QR code on your iPad kiosk to ensure every sign-in is performed on-site.
For invited guests, you can even send them a registration link beforehand so that they can fill in their information before coming on-site. Once they do arrive, all they need to do is scan a QR code which can be emailed to them after they complete their registration at home.
This knowledge articles walks through the touchless sign-in experience for both invited and non-invited Guests.
If you are a location admin and would like to learn how to enable this in your account, click HERE.
ZeroTouch for Non-invited Guests
Once ZeroTouch is enabled on your iPad, your non-invited guests will be able to scan a QR code directly through the camera on their mobile phone without having to touch the iPad at all. Once scanned, a URL link will pop up on the screen. Tapping the link will bring you to the Dynamic Registration Portal on your phone’s browser.
NOTE: Nothing blocks invited guests from scanning the on-screen QR code as well. However, if they’ve already registered themselves through the registration portal, they’ll essentially be doing the process all over again.
Your guest will then fill out the questions/prompts that were customized for your location. Alongside answering questions, guests may also be asked to sign a document, upload/take a photo, or watch a video. These prompts will be customized depending on your site’s needs.
On-Screen Examples
The screenshots below show a few more examples of different page layouts on a mobile device:
Once this is complete, your guests will then see a new QR code within the registration portal. They may also receive an email containing the QR code, depending on your account’s settings.
At this point, all they need to do is scan that QR Code in the window on the top portion of the Welcome Page. If successful, they will see a green checkmark on screen which indicates that the sign-in is complete. The sign-in record will then automatically be pushed to the guest book.
ZeroTouch for Invited (Pre-registered) Guests
In addition to the touchless sign-in process for guests to complete on-site, the registration portal can also be sent to invited guests via invite emails. This means that they can register their details and obtain a QR code before they arrive on-site. To learn more about invites, click HERE.
If this is configured in your account, you will be able to send Invite Email Templates which contain a registration portal button. By default, they resemble the screenshot below but can be customized depending on your admin’s specifications. To learn more about email template customization, click HERE.
Once your guest receives this, they can start filling out the dynamic registration portal from any browser at home. Basic contact information that can be entered by the inviter will autofill for the guest on the portal. This includes name, email, mobile number, and company.
The rest of the pages will largely follow the same layout as they appear for mobile devices ( see the Onscreen Examples section above).
Once this is complete, your guests can then see a QR code. Your account can be configured to display this QR code on your guest’s browser and/or be included in a confirmation email. We highly recommend that you set up your account to send invited guests a confirmation email after they’ve completed the registration process at home. This saves the QR code in an easily accessible place. Contact your Traction Guest admin to confirm whether this setting is on or not.
As is the case for non-invited guests, they can arrive on-site as normal and scan the QR code that was sent to them, directly from the Welcome Page. This is fully touchless and does not require any physical interaction with the iPad. If successful, they will see a green checkmark appear on screen which indicates that the sign-in is complete. The sign-in record will then automatically be pushed to the guest book.
