QR codes allow you to store a visitor's information and allow them to quickly scan their sign-in details on the Kiosk. Within Sign In Solutions, there are two main QR Code Types:

Invitation/Offline QR Code

Invitation/Offline QR Codes are added to the Invite Email Template and also printed on badges that are given to visitors after they sign-in.

They hold basic information such as:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

  • Company

  • Mobile Phone

Unlike the Registration QR code, they are not tied to a specific registration/invite record. They simply hold basic data points so that it can easily be scanned in the future. Also unlike the registration QR code, they can be scanned if the iPad is offline because they simply serve to auto-fill existing data already stored in the QR code.

Think of it as acting similar to the auto-fill on email address function in the Kiosk App. That is, after a visitor types their email address, the rest of their data will auto-fill on that page. In this case, rather than typing in an email, a visitor can scan this QR code. These can be scanned on any Kiosk Experience page with the Allow QR code scanning feature. Currently, this includes:

  • About You Page

  • Form Page

  • Summary Page

  • Sign-Out Page

  • Welcome Page (Can be used to sign-in and sign-out)

To add the QR code to an email template, open the Invite or Registration Email Template type. Drag the Invitation/Offline QR code block into your template. For more information on the email template editor, check out THIS article.

To add it to a badge, click the QR code icon in the badge editor. For more information on the badge editor check out THIS article:

Registration QR Code

The Registration QR code is added to Registration Email Templates and are sent to visitors after they after have successfully completed the registration portal. Upon sign-in, visitors will scan their QR code from the Welcome Page without proceeding through any additional pages. This QR code is linked specifically to a visitor's registration record and is only valid for the duration of their invite. If sign-out privileges are enabled for your locations, visitors can also scan their QR codes to sign-out.

For full details on configuring the Registration email, QR Code, and Welcome Page scanner, check out THIS article.

Optionally, Registration QR codes can also be added to a visitor's mobile device through Google or Apple Wallet. Check out THIS article for details.
