The Host Check Page allows you to route visitors down specific sign-in paths, depending on whether or not they’re an existing host in your SIE account. This means that employees/hosts that are checking-in on the kiosk can be sent down a custom employee sign-in path without manually needing to indicate that they are an employee, typically through a Choice Page.
The first step is to ensure that your hosts, with their proper email addresses, are inputted in your SIE account. For instructions on doing so, check out THIS knowledge article.
Adding Your Host Check Page
Simply add the page into your flow like you would add any other page in the Kiosk Experience Editor. You will see the Host Check Page as an option in the page menu. Learn more about the Kiosk Experience Editor HERE.
Before and After Your Host Check Page
The Host Check Page determines that a visitor is an employee by matching their email address to an existing host. That is, if the visitor's sign-in email address matches with an existing host in your SIE account, they will be sent down the Host path. Otherwise, they will be sent down the No Host path.
Because of this, you must capture the visitor’s email address beforehand in the Experience, using one of an About You Page, Form Page, or Summary Page. This will likely be the same page you use to capture all visitors’ information.
Just like a Choice Page, you are able to customize each individual path to your requirements. A key difference is that the visitor will not be able to choose the path they go down. This happens entirely in the background. Click HERE to learn more about the Choice Page.
Additional Employee Sign-in Options (Include Hosts in Autocomplete)
In addition to the Host Check Page, the Include Hosts in Autocomplete setting is available in the About You Page, Form Page, and Summary Page.
This allows an existing host to begin typing-in their email address which will then auto-fill on the iPad. This speeds up the sign-in process for employees as it frees them from relying on a pre-existing invite to auto-fill their details.
Simply toggle-on this setting for any of the above pages to enable it in you sign-in flow.
Combined with a Host Selection Page somewhere afterwards, this allows you to speed up the data collection process and automatically send hosts down their relevant paths with as few taps on the kiosk as necessary.
