Configuring alerts through the Host Selection Page
Automatic host notifications are configured through the Host Selection Page in the Experience Editor. To learn more about the Experience Editor, click HERE.
The Host Selection Page is the orange page within the Experience Editor. Once added, you will see a green 'Add Notification' button at the bottom. Clicking on it will allow you to add email, sms, and slack messages. You may have more than one configured at a time.
E-mail Notifications
Your hosts' primary and alternate e-mail address will receive a message shortly after your visitor completes the sign-in process using the iPad app. The e-mail can be customized, but you will likely want to include the name of your visitor and their photo. To learn more about email templates, click HERE.
You can also add an 'Acknowledge Guest' button' which will trigger a visual tag to appear within a visitor's record in the Guestbook. This will signify to a receptionist that your host has received the email and has acknowledged their guest's arrival. To learn more about the Guestbook, click HERE.
SMS Notifications
Your hosts can also be alerted by SMS (text message) when their visitors arrive. This message is customizable and can include tokens so that the visitor's basic information is shown in the message.
The tokens that you can add are:
#firstname#
#lastname#
#company#
#hosts#
#mobilePhone#
The example photo below shows a message that is written like this in the experience editor: Your guest, #firstname# #lastname#, has arrived!
Additionally, if you’ve specified an alternate contact number, that number will receive a text message notification as well
Slack Notifications
If your organization uses Slack, the host message can be configured to send a private message to hosts (from @slackbot) when their visitors arrive. This can also take tokens, such as the ones configured for SMS messages. The example photo below shows a message written like this: #firstname# #lastname# is here.
Additionally, you can configure slack messages to send to a public slack channel. For more information about configuring the slack integration, click HERE.
