!! Customers using Office 365 (O365) should NOT use this VSTO Add-in, but should use the O365 Pronestor Office Add-in.

This guide is for the regular Planner user who needs to install their Pronestor Outlook add-in when they start using Planner.

Requirements

  • You need to have a Planner user.

  • You need to know your outlook version. This guide can help with that: How to see your Outlook version

  • Note, the Outlook version on a Mac is different than the Outlook version on a Windows. We do not have an add-in for the locally installed Outlook version on a Mac

  • Your Sign In Workspace (SiW) administrator has to have enabled the Outlook installation files. See this guide on How-to-enable-the-installationfile-available-for-users

IMPORTANT

  • The Pronestor Outlook Add-in is configured to auto-update when new versions are available.

  • This option requires the specific folder "%programfiles%\proNestor\Outlook add-in for Pronestor" to be configured with full control permissions on NTFS.

  • By default, SiW sets these permissions upon installation.

  • If you do not want to allow the add-in to auto-update - we recommend removing this permission.

  • You can do this via File Explorer or by using the attached Powershell script attached to this article

Please note that when disabling the auto update of the add-in, it is required that the add-in is updated when the Planner solution is updated. This can be done using SCCM or similar. The add-in version must always follow the Planner version as a version mismatch could result in corrupted data.

Please see the attached Powershell script for an example of how to set permissions

    • If you don't have the "My Settings" it's because your browser is too slim. You will have this button instead
