After installing the Kiosk App onto your iPad, you may encounter some errors when attempting to link it to your account. This article discusses how to solve for this, depending on the error message you see on-screen.

For basic instructions on how to link your device, check out THIS article.

Error messages covered in this article include:

Please enter a valid email

The app requires the email address of an active Traction Guest user. Ensure that the email address you are entering is accurate and associated with an existing user. For more information on adding users, click HERE.

This error typically indicates that the Device ID/Access Key number you’ve entered on the password is incorrect. Double check that the 10-digit key is accurate from the Devices section of your location.

To mitigate this, we recommend scanning the QR code from the Devices section instead. Simply click on the Access Key from your Traction Guest account and scan the QR code with your iPad’s camera:

Unable to register: Device has already been registered

This error typically indicates that the Device Key is already in use with another iPad. You are only able to have one Device ID/Access Key linked at a time. You can either generate a new device key by clicking the(+) icon in the Devices section of your account (if your licensing allows), or unlink the existing iPad by clicking the ‘unlink’ iPad (Make sure that it is not in active use if you are unlinking it).

In some cases, the Device ID may already be unlinked, but the system hasn’t had time to update this status in your account. If this happens, simply click on the ‘unlink’ icon from devices page. Once done, you can then try linking the device with the same device key/QR code.
