Why are my guest details not autofilling on the iPad?

The Kiosk app can automatically fill in certain guest details on the iPad if they’ve entered their information before or if they have been invited. Since our unique identifier is an email address, this process is triggered when a guest enters the same email they’ve signed in with before or invited with. This article will outline certain areas you can check if this is not happening automatically.Check your Experience SettingsThe first place to check is that your “Autocomplete Email” and “Auto fill” settings are turned on in your experience flow. These settings can be configured in an About You Page or Form PageAbout You PageAutocomplete Email: This setting will automatically complete the email address after a visitor enters its first four characters.Auto Fill: This setting will automatically fill the rest of the information that is captured on the About You Page.NOTE: Auto Fill will still work even if Autocomplete Email is turned off. This means that a guest will need to enter their full email address for the rest of the information to fill in.

Form PageThe custom questions in your form page can also be configured to autofill information. Make sure the Autofill option is turned on for each individual question you’d like to autofill. For more information about the Form Page, click HERE.

NOTE: The visitor's email address is still the unique identifier, even if you did not collect it on your form page.

If you would like to use the Form Page to collect and auto-complete an email address, make sure your form page question follows the Email Field Type instructions in THIS article.Time ConsiderationsIt takes about 3-5 minutes for an iPad to automatically re-sync data back to our server. This means that the details for a new guest who signs in won’t auto-fill on the iPad until this 3-5 minute period is over. You can also manually push any new entries through to the iPad's cache for auto-fill by using the Refresh Theme button. The same time consideration also applies for invites. However, if you are uploading larger lists of invitees, this may take up to an hour to automatically process on the iPad. As a good rule of thumb, we recommend that you upload large lists of attendees up to 24 hours in advance of their intended arrival to give you enough time to verify that they’re loading on the iPad.Cache LimitThe app also has a 30 day cache limit by default. This means a visitor’s details will not be retained on the iPad’s cache for autofill if they signed in greater that 30 days from their previous sign-in and they have not been pre-registered. This limit keeps your iPad’s cache/auto-fill from holding on to guest data for longer than necessary. For example, let’s say my guest, Jane, signs-in on October 1st. She doesn’t sign in again (and is not pre-registered) until November 1st. Since this is more than 30 days later, her details won’t auto-fill on the iPad.However, if Jane signs in on October 1st, then signs in again on October 25, her details will auto-fill. If her next sign-in then occurs on November 1st, her details will auto-fill again since we’ve reset the 30 day clock when she previously signed in on October 25.This cache time limit can be increased upon request.
