To enable storing images remotely you need to insert and (the value here is the unique name, often that which is given when creating a license) into a site's appSettings.config file.
The appSettings.config file is located in the Sites' folder structure (Oftenly: C:\inetpub\wwwroot[sitename]\configuration -> appsettings.config
However, be aware that the name to be inserted, can't include any special characters or a space. If the supplied name includes this, feel free to shorten it down, as the naming won't affect the solution.

These settings are automatically injected into site settings for cloud sites, by the Deploy Tool on that server. When the site restarts, it will start a background task to upload all images used in Boarding Cards to the Asset Service. Once the feature is enabled, all images used in Boarding Cards that are uploaded to the sites are automatically stored in our S3 and served via CloudFront back to users.
