The Notify Action allows you to send an email, text, and/or slack notification to specific individuals after a visitor has completed their sign-in. Some examples include:

  • Sending a text message to security if a red watchlisted guest signs-in.

  • Sending a text message and email to HR if a visitor arrives for an interview.

  • Sending a slack notification to a front desk team slack channel whenever any visitor signs-in.

These message are sent in the background, so the sign-in process is not interrupted for your guest. As well, because the the notify action can be added anywhere in your kiosk experience, you can choose different notifications for different sign-in flows.

It can be added like any other page in the Kiosk Experience. Simply click where you want to add it in your experience and select it from the menu. If you are not familiar with how to add pages/actions to the Kiosk Experience, you can learn more through THIS knowledge article.

NOTE: Visitors will not be able to see the Visitor Action when they move through the Kiosk. No matter where you add it in the experience, it will occur in the background and send out notifications after the sign-in is complete.

Click the Add Notification button, then choose between Email, SMS, and Slack notifications. You can add as many notifications and more than one notification type to one Notify Action if you wish.

Each notification type has different configuration settings:

  • Email: Enter an email address, then choose an existing Guest or Host email template type. To learn how to create email templates, check out our course HERE.

  • SMS: Enter a full number. If you are including a country code, add a '+' beforehand (eg. +1). Type your message below, including tokens that will pull visitor data into the text. A commonly used text message is: #firstname# #lastname# from #company# has arrived.

  • Slack: Enter a slack channel, preceded with a '#' (eg. #front-desk). Or, enter a specific user, preceded with an '@' (eg. @JohnSmith). You can then type your message below, including tokens, similar to the SMS message. As well, you can choose to include a guest photo. For more information on the Slack integration, check our lesson HERE.

In the example below, the Notify Action is configured to alert security when a visitor on the red watchlist signs-in. It sends an email to a group security inbox, an SMS message to a specific individual, and a Slack notification to a specific individual.
