EWS Retirement – Migrate to Microsoft Graph before October 1, 2026

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Important: To ensure your booking solution continues working seamlessly, action is required before October 1, 2026.

Microsoft has confirmed that Exchange Web Services (EWS) will be retired for Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 on October 1, 2026. From this date, all EWS requests from non-Microsoft applications will be blocked.

If you are still using the EWS version of Sign In Solutions/Pronestor Planner product, action is required. Once EWS is disabled, calendar synchronisation and booking management will no longer function.

The benefits once you move over to our Microsoft Graph version:
Microsoft Graph is Microsoft's modern, fully supported API and offers several advantages:

  • Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication

  • Fine-grained permission controls

  • Improved reliability and performance

  • Better monitoring and logging

  • Ongoing compatibility with Microsoft 365 and future Microsoft features

Moving is essential for the following reasons:

  • EWS retirement: Microsoft will permanently block EWS access on October 1, 2026. EWS will no longer be available after this date, making migration essential.

  • New Outlook requirement: Microsoft’s New Outlook experience is only supported through Microsoft Graph. Customers wishing to adopt or continue using New Outlook must migrate.

  • Future support: Microsoft has ended feature development for EWS and is investing exclusively in Microsoft Graph. Going forward, our product will be fully supported on our Microsoft Graph version.
