This article describes how you can connect your Brother printer to the Sign In Enterprise app. For best performance, we recommend using the Brother QL-820NWB label printer.
While we also natively integrate with the QL-720NW, QL-710W, and QL-810NW Brother label printers, these are older models and have fewer connection options than the QL-820NWB.
The standard badges we recommend are the 62mm DK-2205 or 62mmRB DK-2251
If you wish to use a color printer, you can do so by utilizing our GuestPrint software.

If you have an ethernet cable, simply plug your printer into the same network as your iPad. Apart from that, your other options are:
Wireless Printing Setup
Most brother printers can be set up wirelessly. If you have a USB cable, you can plug your printer into a computer, then use a Brother utility to send the wireless configuration to the printer. You can download Brother's set up wizard HERE.
A direct installer for the QL-810W and QL-820NWB printers can be found HERE. Brother also has a wireless printer setup guide on their Youtube channel which shows how you can connect a QL-810 or 820 printer to your wireless network via the USB included: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oFOawRugQs&t=1s
Bluetooth Printing Setup (Only for Brother QL-820NWB Printers)
In addition to wireless and wired setup, the QL-820NWB printer allows you to print via Bluetooth.
The first step is to enable Bluetooth on the printer itself. To do so:
1. Click the 'Menu' button on the printer.
2. Go to the 'Bluetooth' option with the up and down arrows. Press OK.
3. Select 'On' with the up and down arrows. Press OK.
With this complete, you will now need to connect your iPad to the printer via its Bluetooth settings. To do so:
1. Tap on the 'Settings' app on your iPad.
2. Tap on 'Bluetooth' in the menu on the left-hand side.
3. Toggle on the Bluetooth settings near the top of the page.
4. After your iPad searches for and finds your Bluetooth device, tap on it to finish the connection. You will see 'Connected' appear to the right of your printer's name.
Note: Only one Bluetooth printer can connect to an iPad at a time. This means that each iPad you want connected to Bluetooth simultaneously will need to be connected to its own Brother printer.
Connecting the Printer to the iPad
Now that your printer is connected to your iPad, via network or Bluetooth, simply open the Sign In Enterprise app and:
Tap the information icon.
Select the "Printer Settings" tab.
Sign In Enterprise will automatically scan for any Brother Printers on your network.
Select the printer you want and tap "Done"
Brother also needs to know which paper size you're using to successfully trigger the print job.
Common sizes are:
DK-2205 = 62mm (this is the standard Black/White continuous tape)
DK-2251 = 62mmRB (this is the standard Red/Black continuous tape)
Sign In Enterprise Void badges = 62mm x 100mm
DK-1234 = 60mm x 86mm
If you are not sure what size your badge is, it can be found easily with a Google search or just reach out to our Customer Success representative and they will help you out.
That's all there is to it.
Now, whenever a visitor signs in and hits a "Thank You" page triggering a print job, the brother printer will print off your selected label.
Note: Multiple iPads can print to the same printer if you are using a wired or wireless connection. Bluetooth connected printers can only connect to one iPad at a time.
What if I can't find my wirelessly connected iPad automatically?
If your printer isn't found by the automatic search, you can manually enter it with its IP address.
If you don't already know the printer's IP address, hold down the "Cut" button for 3 seconds to have it print off its information.
Then, you will be able to enter this by tapping "Set Printer Manually"
Remember that you can always customize your badges within your account with the Badge Editor.
