Creating a chart in Sign In Scheduling involves four key steps: selecting data, configuring filters, setting the X-axis, and configuring the Y-axis. Follow the steps below to create your desired chart.

Step 1: Select Data

1. Navigate to the chart creation tool in your account dashboard. It can be found at the bottom of the page.

2. Give your chat a title and select the type of chart you'd like to create.

3. Select the type of data you want to use. There are two options:

Events: Includes all bookings and classes on the account. This is useful for charting bookings by staff member, location, bookings over time, no-show rates, cancellation rates, and more.

Availability: Includes all working hours and booked time for all staff. This is useful for charting the total and remaining capacity of staff members to take bookings. Each block of availability is associated with a staff member and has a Date/Time and duration.

Step 2: Configure Filters

Filters help you refine the data before drawing the chart. The available filters depend on the type of data selected:

For Events

Date/Time: Filter by when the event took place.

Created Date/Time: Filter by when the event was created.

Is Active (true/false): Include or exclude non-active events (those that were cancelled or no-showed).

Is Real Appointment (true/false): Include or exclude non-appointment events, such as buffer times, travel times, and events from calendar sync.

Was No-Show (true/false): Include or exclude no-showed appointments.

Internal or External: Filter by internal bookings or external.

Attendance Status: Show the attended status of the appointment.

For Availability

Date/Time: Filter by when the block of availability started.

Available (true/false): Filter by whether the block of availability is within the staff members' working hours.

Booked (true/false): Filter by whether the block of availability contains a booking.

Step 3: Configure the X-axis

Select X-axis Field: Configure which variable is used on the X-axis of the chart. The options depend on the type of data selected in the previous step.

For Events

Date/Time: Select a Group By option (day, week, month, quarter, or year) to show when the event took place.

Created Date/Time: Group by date/time.

Duration: Group by the length of the services.

Is Active (true/false): Group by active/inactive services.

Service: Each column shows what service the event was for.

Name: Group by service name.

Staff: Each column shows who took the event.

Booked by: Each column shows the staff member who booked the event.

Location: Each column shows where the events took place.

Number of attendees: Group by the number of attendees on the service.

Booking Page Template: Group by the booking page that took the booking.

Custom Status: for if you have custom statuses for your organisation.

For Availability

Date/Time: Select a Group By option (day, week, month, quarter, or year) to show when the availability is in.

Staff: Each column shows the member of staff that the availability is for.

Step 4: Configure the Y-axis

Select Y-axis Calculation: Configure how the Y-axis is calculated.

Display: Choose whether the Y-axis is a count of the “things” in each column or a sum of the things.

Count: Use this if you are counting bookings by staff member from the Events data.
Sum: Use this if you are calculating total working hours from the Availability data, then pick “Length in hours”.

Step 5: Segment By (Optional)

Segment Columns: Configure whether each column should be broken up into sections and colourised. The fields available for segmentation depend on the data selected.

For Events: You can segment by fields such as Staff, Location, and Service.

Here’s an example of a completed chart:

Saving and Viewing Your Chart

1. Save Chart: Once you've configured your chart, click "Save Card" to save your chart.

2. View Chart: You can view your saved charts from your dashboard.
