Creating A New Template
Each template has a different "Type". These Types determine:
What blocks are available when customizing the template
Where the template can be used
All accounts have access to the Guest", "Host", and "Invite" types.
Through the our Zero Touch functionality with the Dynamic Registration Portal, you can also configure "Registration" Email templates. Click here to learn more.
Once you have entered the editor, you will see a list of available content blocks on the left side and tabs to toggle between the block library and the Template settings.
These blocks will be tailored depending on the type of template you are editing.
Here are a few examples of the available blocks:
Paragraph - Display any message by customizing the wording, font, size, and colors.
Button - Add a button that contains a custom URL link.
Guest Basic Info - Details of the visitor that are typically gathered on the About You page.
Guest Experience Data - Details from what the visitor selected on the iPad while signing in.
Maps - Type in an address and see a Google Maps image of it. Clicking on the image will open up directions to the location
Guest Watchlist Details - Only appears if visitor is watchlisted, will display the color.
Image - Use the URL of any image found online to display the image in the email.
Customizing Template Settings
Once you select the Settings tab, you will be able to edit the subject of the email, make sure documents signed during sign in are attached to the email, and set the default style for content blocks added to this email.
Adding Content Blocks
To start building your email, all you have to do is click and drag a block from the library into the email section. There is no limit to how you build the email.
Customizing Individual Blocks
A new block will inherit the default settings of the template, but each block can be customized to fit your needs.
Dragging in a block automatically opens settings for that block, but you can always go back and edit it afterwards just by clicking on it.
Adding your Logo (or other image) to the emails
As an email best practice, images are added by referencing images hosted online.
In many cases, your company logo's URL can be grabbed from your company's website.
If your website allows this, follow these steps:
Go to your company website
Right click on your logo
Open image in a new tab/window
Copy URL of the new page
Paste URL as the source of the image in the email editor
Using the Template
Once your templates are complete, you will be able to select them in various sections of SIE from a picklist of available templates. These picklists are found in these spots:
Invite Emails: When creating an invite or setting a location default invite email.
Host Emails: Within the Host Selection Pages of the Kiosk and Registration Experience.
Guest Emails: Within the About You Page of the Kiosk Experience.
Registration Emails: Within the Thank You page of the Registration Experience.
You are also able to add location specific fields to your header and paragraph blocks. This allows you to pull in location specific details to your emails, depending on the location where the invite/sign-in is based. This information includes the location name, address, and contact details that is written in the SETUP page of your location(s).
These fields can be pulled into your emails by using these three tokens:
#location_name#
#location_address#
#location_contact#
For example, the #location_name# token can be used in both the email template editor and within the Welcome Page of your experience editor.
