Creating a Custom Dashboard

Updated today

Creating a New Dashboard

The system allows you to have more than one Dashboard. To create a new Dashboard click the "+" button located in the top right corner of your Dashboard and click Dashboard.

You can then give your new Dashboard a name, and set who it will be visible to:

You can choose to make it visible to just you, the current Organisation, or the whole Federation/Trust if you are part of one.

Note: If you share your dashboards, then others that are able to see them will also be able to make changes.

Once you are ready click Create and your new Dashboard will be shown on your home screen. Please see how to customise your dashboard for next steps.

Switching between Dashboards

You can quickly and easily switch between Dashboards by clicking on the name of the current Dashboard to open the dashboard selector.

Creating a Federation Overview Dashboard

If you are part of a federation/trust, you can also create a dashboard to provide an overview of your trusts compliance.

Start by creating a new dashboard, and choose who you would like this to be shared with. We recommend this dashboard be kept on your central team SCR:

Adding Default Widgets

Once your dashboard has been created, you can then start to build your dashboard using the federation widgets. Click '+ Add Widget' and then scroll down to the widgets held under the Federation list:

You can add any widgets from here, and they will hold data for all profiles/organisations across your federation:

Important: The view of this dashboard will be restricted by user permissions. For example, if a user has access to only one school and read-only access to the central team, this is the only data they would see on Federation level widgets.

The Federation 'Organisation List' widget is restricted to those with access to every organisation within a federation.

Adding custom widgets

You can customise the federation widgets to suit what you need to see. In particular, the 'Federation Profile List' widget can be fully customised based on overview needs.

When the widget is first added, it will show a list of all profiles within your Federation. You can then click on the cogwheel icon in the top right-hand corner of the widget to open the widget settings and modify your view.

Example 1: Federation New Starters

In this example, I have renamed and customised the widget settings to show me any 'Onboarding' Staff across the federation, so I can track the progress of new starters and their compliance ahead of their start date:

Example 2: Federation DSL's

In this example, I have renamed and customised the widget using a filter logic based on toggle selection. I have selected a custom field where I have recorded DSL training (for further information about setting this up, see here) and I have asked the widget to show me anyone where my DSL Training Complete toggle has been selected.

This widget will now remain a live, up-to-date list of all DSL trained staff:

Example 3: Right to Work Expiry

In this example, I have renamed and customised the widget using a filter logic based on date. I have selected a custom field where I have recorded staff on a Visa/Work Permit (for further information about setting this up, see here) and I have asked the widget to show me anyone who's Visa/Work Permit Expiry Date is exactly or earlier than in 3 months.

This widget will now remain a live and up-to-date list of all staff that meet this condition:
