If you are at the Display screen

  1. Note the room name, the date and time you tried to book, and the error code pd7.

  2. Send these details to your Planner or Display administrator.

  3. If you need the room now, book it in Planner on the web or from your Outlook add-in. These methods of booking are not affected by pd7.

Note - Trying again at the screen will give the same error until your administrator has made the change below. Depending on the configuration, it can affect every booking from the screen, or only bookings of rooms that have a price.

What it means

Error code pd7 means the room could not be booked from the Display screen because Planner has no default meeting type or billing account to use for the booking.

Why it happens

A Display screen books rooms in Planner as a special Planner user, called the service account. Every booking needs a meeting type, and a room with a price also needs a billing account. Display does not ask the person at the screen for these, so Planner looks them up in this order:

  1. The default set in the service account's user profile.

  2. If the service account’s department only has one billing account connected, it will be selected.

  3. If the service account's department has exactly one to choose from, that one.

  4. The site default under Administration → Settings in Planner.

If all of these checks fail, Planner refuses the booking and the screen shows error code pd7.

For administrators: how to fix pd7

Set a default meeting type and a default billing account that Planner can use for the Display service account. You can set them on the service account itself or on the site.

  1. Find the service account. In Display Admin , go to Settings → Booking service (the PRONESTOR PLANNER section). The login shown here is the service account that Display uses.

  2. Check for a warning. The same page shows a warning, tagged with error code pd7, when bookings will fail.

    1. "Bookings from Display will fail" means no default meeting type is set.

    2. "Rooms with a price cannot be booked from Display" means no default billing account is set.

  3. Set the defaults in Planner. Choose one of these:

    1. Use this if Display should book with its own meeting type and billing account.

On the service account: open that user's profile in Planner and set a default meeting type and a default billing account.

    2. Use this if Display bookings should use the same defaults as the rest of the site.

On the site: go to Administration → Settings in Planner and set the site's default meeting type and default billing account. Fill in default notes if your site requires them. Make sure the service account has a default meeting type note and a default billing account saved in Planner’s My Settings tab.

Check that it works

  1. Book a room from the Display screen.

  2. The room should be booked and show in Planner with the default meeting type and billing account you set.

If the booking still fails:

  • Confirm you set the defaults on the same Planner user that is shown in Display's Booking service settings.

  • Confirm a default billing account is.

  • Check whether the error code is still pd7. A different message points to another cause, so contact support with the details shown on the screen.

Note - People booking in Planner on the web or in Outlook are not affected by these settings.
